Disclaimer: Only enabled devices are used to determine your inverter results.

Your current inputs into the run-time calculator resulted in no recommended Samlex inverters.

Try increasing battery voltage to 24V or 48V, or reduce the number of concurrent devices you will be using to help change your result.

If selecting 240V devices from the device list change your battery bank to 48V to see recommended inverters.

Samlex America’s run-time calculator is an interactive simplified calculator designed to educate you on how much power is needed to run certain devices, in terms of batteries and size of inverter.

Instructions:

    1.  Choose an industry – if you are unsure, just pick one
    2.  Choose your run-time goal in hours eg.  how many hours will you run the devices (1-24) – calculation assumes you will run them concurrently
    3.  Add your devices from the list – what are you going to need to power?
    4.  Choose battery size 12V or 24V and how many batteries you will have
    5.  Turn on the devices and see your run-time results
    6.  See Inverters – your inverter results will be determined by the wattage of all your turned on devices

Tips & Assumptions

Your run-time results are based on the battery and device selections you have made, and the combined watts of the devices you will be powering at once. As you start to turn your selected devices on/off you will see how each one affects your run-time.

Green Zone = More than 80% of desired run-time achieved
Orange Zone = 50%-80% of desired run-time achieved
Red Zone = Less than 50% of desired run-time achieved

To Increase Your Run-Time:

Add more batteries and/or increase battery voltage from 12V to 24V

Run-Time Calculator Assumptions

  • Batteries are 100% charged to start and will only draw down to 50% – lead acid batteries only.  Lithium batteries draw down further.
  • Battery specifications are at C5 Rating
  • Inverter efficiency of 90% – we add 10% to the wattage required for inverter sizing
  • Surge factor is only used to assist in selecting the Inverter, it is not used to calculate run-time
  • Minimum size of Inverter is determined by the combined watts of devices turned on and whether we set them to run on modified sine wave or pure sine wave
  • A pure sine wave inverter is needed if powering both sensitive and non-sensitive devices
  • Output is always at 120 VAC

* Note:  in real life not all devices/loads will be running at the same time so the run-time calculator should be used as a guide or education tool.
